Safeguarding your accounts and personal information is a priority for Optum Bank®. We take your privacy very seriously. Here are some of the strategies we use to keep you protected.

User name and password

Optum Bank requires account holders to have complex passwords, including various upper case, lower case and symbols to help keep accounts secure.

Encryption and browser

We use encryption to protect your information, including your user name, password and account information. Our mobile websites also use the same encryption to protect your information.

Automatic log off

Optum® and Optum Bank automatically will log you out of your Optum or Optum Bank account after a pre-determined amount of time to help ensure your account is protected.

Ongoing monitoring

We continually monitor your account for suspicious activity. If we detect any suspicious transactions, we will notify you.

Mastercard’s® ID theft services

  • With your Optum Payment Card, you are automatically enrolled in Mastercard’s ID Theft Resolution Service. This service is offered by Mastercard at no additional cost to customers.
  • Mastercard’s ID theft services include:
    • 24/7 access to certified resolution specialists.
    • Internet monitoring that seeks to proactively detect stolen personally identifiable information (PII) and compromised confidential data online.
    • Assistance from a specialist with notification to all three major credit reporting agencies.
    • Assistance with completing paperwork to alert various parties of the potential fraud.
    • Assistance with cancellation of all lost cards in wallet.
    • Education about how identity theft can occur and protective measures to avoid further occurrences.
    • Cardholder satisfaction follow-ups.
